Overwhelming Conservative win in Bramshaw by-election

Henry Forse won the by-election for the Bramshaw, Copythorne North and Minstead ward of the New Forest District Council (NFDC) on 14th June 2007, with a massive 78% of the vote!

The poll results were:

Henry Forse, Conservative 559
Anthony Gray, Liberal Democrat 123

This now takes the number of Conservative Councillors on the NFDC to 45 out of 60, so New Forest residents can rest assured that the performance of the Conservative controlled Council will continue to be "Excellent" (as judged by the Audit Commission) and that everyone within the Council will place the same importance on value for money that recently caused the NFDC to be placed in the top 5 in England for "Value for money".
