Although we fought a very positive campaign, in the end we were just pipped by 37 votes which was very disappointing. Some of our supporters were saying after the result that they felt we needed to do more to counter the negative campaigning of our opponents. Clearly we must do more to promote what has been achieved for Totton by our District Council and the County Council.

The result still leaves the Conservatives with an overall majority of two until next May when all seats will be up for election again.
