Where Have All The Lib Dems Gone?.
We Conservatives always like to congratulate our opponents when they do well, and so we offer them to Mrs Kath Coles who has just won a seat on the Fawley Parish Council.
It was interesting to note that Mrs. Coles, the widow of a former Lib Dem. councillor, chose to stand as an Independent, even though at the count she publicly thanked a number of Lib Dems for their help and support with her campaign.
There is bound to be speculation as to why Mrs. Coles does not feel comfortable under the Lib Dem. umbrella.
Nationally too, there appears to be rather a shortage of Lib Dems. A recent press report states that half the seats in the country currently do not have a Lib Dem. candidate, even though we may only be two and a half months from a probable General Election.
This is not exactly the performance of a party which seriously aspires to govern the country.
